Darchula Power Limited, a company established and incorporated for the development and operation of hydropower projects to generate and supply electricity to National grid as its prime objective. The company is currently developing 28.3 MegaWatt, Madhya Chameliya Hydroelectric Project a run off river type project in Chameliya river, a major tributary of Mahakali river located at Marma Rural Municipality, Darchula district of Sudhur Paschim Province in the Far Western region of Nepal. The major promoter/investor behind this company is Api Power Company Limited, a leading company in Nepal’s Power Sector with Power Generation and Supply to National Grid as its core business. Api Power Company Limited shall invest and shall own shares i.e. majority 51% stake holding in the Company. As a Promoter in this Darchula Power Limited, Api Power Company Limited invest the Equity required for the development of the Projects owned. Geographically the Project is located between the Latitude 290 42′ 55″ to 290 45′ 00” North and Longitude 800 46′ 45″ to 800 42′ 38″ East. The intake and powerhouse sites lie in the Darchula District at altitudes of 1042.260m amsl and 906.0m amsl respectively. The effective catchment area of Chameliya River at the proposed intake site is around 769.67 km2. Based on the hydrological analysis, a design discharge of 25.17 m3/s is derived at 40.00% probability of flow exceedance.
